Insights from Corvidia Therapeutics' Michael Davidson at Tales from the Trenches

Physician and serial entrepreneur Michael Davidson, MD, joined us for our September Tales from the Trenches™ to discuss his more than 35 years in healthcare, takeaways from leading two major pharmaceutical companies to market and acquisition, advice to young entrepreneurs and his latest endeavor as the founder and CEO of New Amsterdam Pharma.

Michael’s key piece of advice for entrepreneurs? Learn the financial side of business and know how to negotiate.

“I didn’t take any business classes in medical school and I still struggle with the financial issues that a CEO has. One of my top pieces of advice is to learn as much as you can about the business aspects of biotech, even if you’re a scientist. Along with that, don’t be afraid to negotiate with investors.”

Watch our latest September Tales from the Trenches™, moderated by Illinois Ventures CEO Nancy Sullivan, to hear more about Michael’s entrepreneurial journey.
